Client Feedback

Hairy Goat was launched in July 2009 and since January 2010 has been in the Top 10 of the Best Things To Do In London on the Trip Advisor Website.

I understand that potential customers can hesitate to do something different unless they can read or hear a “Stamp of Approval”. For this reason, I have added this Customer Feedback page to the website. I can only hope you will read it, and if you have any further queries, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I can also only add, that Hairy Goat isn’t a huge company with unlimited capital. We need regular clients so don’t wait forever to come on a tour.

The fee of £40 is more than the fee charged by other walking companies but less than most photography tour companies in London. However, Hairy Goat London Photography Mystery Tours are unique. Compared to the walking tour competitors, the tour is up to twice as long, consists of much smaller groups, is more personalised to client requirements, we don’t run on a fixed itinerary and everyone receives individual attention. All previous customers have said that it was definitely worth the money for 3 hours and client reviews make it the best rated photography tour company in London on Trip Advisor and one of the best tours in London overall.

Faking claims of customer satisfaction is an appalling, but common practice which I abhor. But how do you verify what is true or false anyway? Written comments at least can be proved and I appreciate the customers who have made the effort to write, knowing full well Hairy Goat customers will want to read them.

As soon as I receive any negative comments I promise I’ll add them in too!

Nearly 100% of reviews are now coming in via Trip Advisor and I sincerely thank the clients who have taken the time to contribute. I’ve also just been added to my-london-guide.com Please click on the Feedback tab to read the reviews sent directly to me via email.

Here’s the latest feedback from a client on a Night Photography Workshop on 12th February 2012.

“I learned so much yesterday evening at the Night Photography Workshop. I arrived knowing roughly what I could do with my camera and a bit about composition but was absolutely terrified about all the maths around the calculations between aperture, shutter speed and ISO and how to judge which settings to use. Not only did Corinna and Robert de-mystify the terrifying maths for me and show me how to short-cut the calculations at first until I get better at judging for myself, they also taught me loads of tricks to make my photography better. The voucher for the course was a great birthday gift!” from Ceri Wilkinson

From my first customer!
Ian Riley on 26 July 2009 via email: “I very much enjoyed to tour last week. Thanks for your time and expertise.”

“It was a great day out with my camera!!”
5 stars *****

Corinna, was a great tour guide. She took the time to research my camera online and understand its functions so she could explain it all to me! The one thing I absolutely loved was that I wasn’t walking around all day taking photos of buildings that I will never remember. Corinna took me through side streets and took the shots that you need to look for e.g.puddle shots capturing the shot that you would normally take or shadow shots, elevator shots!! I definatley recommend this tour for anyone who a) wants to understand the camera functions and b) wants to open their eyes to more extroadinary picture taking!!! Thanks corinna!!!

“Fantastic way to spend 3 hours with your camera”
5 stars *****

I’m just starting to learn how to use my camera properly (no more Auto for me!) so I thought I’d treat myself to this tour and I’m really glad I did. Corinna was a superb guide, starting off outside the Royal Exchange with a potted history of London and then leading us around the city pointing out endless photo opportunities that most people would walk by and ignore; buildings photographed from different angles, using reflections, alleyways and silhouettes and much more. As well as this we got more historical background on the places we were photographing as well as some invaluable tips on using the camera to get better results. Even after this short tour, and not strictly intended as an instructional tour, I feel I can now take better photos. I will look harder for sites and situations that would make good pictures and also know what to adjust on the camera to get better photographs as a result. Very worth the money and something I would do again. Recommended.

“Finally I learnt how to handle my camera on manual”
5 stars *****

I did the London Photography Tour – a 4 hour morning outdoor workshop which included a training session on camera/photography essentials and a walking tour around London to practice photography. It’s a unique tour which I would say would suit anyone who wants to take better photographs and to learn more about their camera.

The great thing is that it’s hands-on. We were led by a professional photographer who shared his passion and his expertise about photography with us. So, after meeting at Waterloo Station at 0930, we headed for our camera lesson over a coffee. Automatic functions were switched off and manual features were explained. It’s the first time I’ve ever mastered manual photography (after years on auto). We covered the basics over coffee and then we set out walking around London, taking photographs, gleaning tips from our guide and putting into practice our new knowledge.

This is also a good intro tour to London also. However, my friend and I were familiar with the sights, so we were able to concentrate on our photo skills instead.

Definitely a unique and brilliant concept – get to know your camera, grasp the basics of using aperture and shutter speeds and practice in one of the World’s most photogenic countries…whilst learning about the city as you go.

Tip – bring sensible shoes for alot of walking, pack a waterproof for rain, bring a snack to keep your energy levels up. Bring the manual for your camera with you, just in case!

I’ll definitely be looking at doing more workshops now to learn even more. A few months on, and I’m still using the skills I learnt.
