Country Photography Tour

Hairy Goat is heading out to the country with photography walks in the beautiful English countryside, stopping at interesting and photogenic locations, such as farms, National Trust properties, rivers, churches and other features of interest along the way. There will be physically challenging photography walks and gentle photography tours suitable for all.

We’re starting with a Surrey walk from Boxhill and Westhumble….

This country photography walk is a wonderful and full day of walking through fields, woods and forest, both up and down hills. This area of Surrey is renowned for its rolling hills and beautiful English countryside scenery. This Surrey walk is approximately 13 km (8 miles). You’ll be accompanied by one of Hairy Goat’s professional photographers who will assist you to get the best photos with your equipment plus give you ideas and inspiration. One of Hairy Goat’s Guides who lives locally will be guiding the tour, providing history and information on the flora and fauna of the area.

During the day we have plenty of time to take photos and will have designated rest and photo stops. There is a range of photography options using Macro, Wide Angle and Zoom, with landscape, flowers, animals, people and architecture. However, bring any camera you like, we’re not at all snobbish. As long as you are happy with your camera, we will be too. There will be a maximum of 6 people on the tour.

On the walk we visit the Stepping Stones (a water feature on the River Mole), Polesden Lacey (a National Trust House), St Barnabas Church, Ranmore and finish up at Denbies Wine Estate (an award winning venue) in time for you to either join a winery tour, or sit down for a glass of wine or a cup of tea.

The guide and photographer will meet you at Boxhill and Westhumble train station at 9.20am. Trains leave Victoria Station (London) at 8.31am with a journey time of 50 minutes. Return fare to and from Victoria Station on a weekend should be around £7.70 (however, please confirm this as it will be subject to change). Trains depart only once per hour (so don’t be late!). Please check in advance the scheduled engineering works on any public transport you need to use – www.tfl.gov.uk

Please note, we don’t climb Box Hill.
